The Cleadon in Bloom Committee asked people and organisations, such as the scouts and guides, to join them in renovating the bark mulch path through the wooded area, weeding the flower beds and generally tidying up.
The committee was formed in 2006 to improve Cleadon as a village, and to take part in the annual Northumbria in Bloom competition in the large village category.
Last year Cleadon clinched a silver-gilt award . Having taken on board the feedback from the judges they are hoping to achieve the Gold in 2008.
