Cleadon Village Association adopted its present title in January, 1996, prior to which it had been known as the 4M's (Monthly Monday Morning Meeting) since its inception in January, 1994. In April 1998 it merged with Cleadon Village Residents Association, this latter being originally known as the Oakleigh Gardens Action Group formed in 1971.
